This entry to our You Earned It series is American Aquarium Drinker, a dry-hopped saison. You Earned It is a program in which our team members take turns brewing a batch of beer on our pilot system. A portion of the sales from draft pours and cans sold are donated to a non-profit of their choice.

American Aquarium Drinker was brewed by Kevin Broydrick — member of our all-star taproom operations team — with French saison yeast and dry-hopped with two of his favorite varietals, Nelson Sauvin and Hallertau Blanc. The name comes from lyrics by Wilco, who happen to be scheduled to play here on Thompson’s Point just in time for the release. During the planning stages he reached out to bassist (and midcoast Maine resident) John Stirratt, who recommended we donate to an organization based in Lincoln County called Stepping Stone Housing. This local, volunteer run, grassroots program is dedicated to helping those who earn less than a living wage find housing as a “stepping stone” to a better life.
