Yes!
In Portland we are thrilled to present Bissell Brothers Kitchen: brand new dining experience in our taproom. Learn more here. Current hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11am-7:30pm, Fridays & Saturdays from 11am-8:30pm, and Sundays from 11am-5:30pm. At this time we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. If you visit us while the kitchen is closed, you are more than welcome to bring your own food.
Three Rivers has opened their own Kitchen in Milo, and they have a rotating schedule of additional food vendors each weekend – see their Kitchen’s menu and the schedule here.
We do not take reservations for either our Portland or Three Rivers locations. Seating and service (for both drinks and food) are on a first-come, first-serve basis regardless of the size of your party.
For the most up-to-date list of what’s currently available from our Portland location, please refer to this list of available brands on our website (and case counts for each brand) that is updated daily.
For the most up-to-date list of what’s currently available from our Three Rivers location, please refer to this list of available brands on our website that is updated daily.
Brands listed at the links above are available either on draft, to go, or both – please note the icons to the right of each brand name. For the most current list of available beer, please call ahead during business hours or refer to in-taproom signage.
We post a release schedule for our Portland location each week on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We also update it on our website. Three Rivers receives a truck of fresh beer from Portland each Wednesday – please follow them on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
It wasn’t us! Parking on Thompson’s Point is managed and enforced by a third party unaffiliated with Bissell Brothers. We do our best to remind our customers to pay for parking verbally and via signage at both of our entrances – but if you don’t pay, they will ticket your vehicle. We recommend paying upon arrival to avoid being ticketed.
You can pay and display a printed receipt on your dashboard via the kiosks that are set up throughout the lot, OR you can use the same app the city of Portland uses for public street parking. It’s called Passport – you can download it here. Anywhere you park on Thompson’s Point is considered ZONE 1213. Please see the kiosks in the parking lot for further information or head to Thompson’s Point’s Parking FAQs.
The Portland Transportation Center is a 7 minute walk from our brewery and taproom, which has both an Amtrak Downeaster (train) and Concord Trailways (bus) station. If you’re local there is a brand new Greater Portland Metro bus service stop right next to the brewery. And the Portland Trail System connects right to Thompson’s Point via the Fore River Trail, which is an easy way to get here on foot or by bike if you’re local. And last but not least, taxis or car services are always a solid option.
We do not offer flights because we encourage that each beer be enjoyed individually. We offer pour sizes depending on the style beer you order (12oz, 16oz, and/or 20oz). Half-pours (6oz) of all of our beers are available upon request.
Maybe! We release Swish on a regular basis throughout the colder months only, with the last release of the season usually scheduled for springtime. Please check our lists of available beer (for our Portland or Three Rivers location) to see what’s currently in stock.
No. It is against the law for us to ship beer in Maine, within the state or outside of it.
We’re currently offering a limited number of 1/6bbl kegs of our Flagship IPA, The Substance Ale, for personal use… i.e. to pour at your private event or hook up to your at-home kegerator system. These kegs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis from our Portland location, so all you have to do is come in and ask for one. If available, we’ll have you sign on the dotted line and she’s all yours. Our only big request? Please return the keg to us so we can properly recycle it. Located closer to Three Rivers? Let them know you’re looking for one and they’ll be able to help you out.
If we don’t have any available, Bier Cellar and RSVP – both located in Portland, Maine – frequently receive kegs from us that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Or feel free to use our Beer Finder (Maine only) to find a bottle shop near you and contact them, they may be able to special order kegs.
Yes! We can ship merchandise anywhere in the USA including glassware, apparel, stickers, and more. See our full selection and place your order here.
Yes! We have gift cards valid for purchases of beer and merchandise online or in person at both locations. Available for purchase here in any amount you choose to be instantly emailed along to a lucky recipient.
Take a look at our Beer Finder to see where in Maine you can enjoy our beer on draft or in cans. Locations on this map aren’t guaranteed to have our beer in stock, as they may be sold out or closed for the season. Please reach out to them directly to confirm.
No, sorry. We have discontinued our online preorder system for both locations now that we are open for services. Apologies for any inconvenience!
Please note that if you’re looking to pick up beer quickly from our Portland location, our updated taproom has registers that are specifically for to-go beer and merchandise purchases. So if you want to get on your way as fast as possible, look out for the “to-go beer & merch” signs and head there to place your order.

As much we love dogs, we do not allow them in our Portland taproom or out on our patio unless they are service animals.
We DO allow dogs in the Three Rivers taproom and on the patio – but they must be on a leash at all times and well-behaved.
We are honored you would think of us for your special event, but we do not rent out our taproom at either our Portland or Three Rivers locations.
Humulone, a type of organic acid, is a bitter-tasting chemical compound found in the resin of mature hops (Humulus lupulus). It’s a prevalent member of a class of compounds known as alpha acids, which give hoppy beer its characteristic bitter flavor.
