Service Assistant (Part Time)
POSITION SUMMARY
The service assistant is responsible for bussing & cleaning tables, washing glassware, running food orders, and re-stocking service ware in our Portland Taproom. This position requires a hardworking, hospitality-minded individual who can uphold high standards of excellence in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Weekend Availability is required for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Reinforcing the company culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Bussing tables, restocking items, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring FOH is safe and meets or exceeds expectations at all times.
- Washing & maintaining clean glassware/barware levels in taproom & Garden bar areas.
- Promptly transporting food orders from the Kitchen to guest tables.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down for events or daily operations.
- Anticipating guest and team needs.
- Relay customer feedback to FOH management.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service, sanitation, and food safety principles.
- Constantly striving to enhance the guest experience.
- Willingness to go the extra mile for guests & fellow team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Welcoming and helpful attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to utilize independent problem-solving and decision-making skills in real time
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing needs during high-volume service periods
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Alcohol Responsibility: acknowledging BBB's responsible use policy and recognizing its role while working in an active production/brewing facility

- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including evenings and weekends

Delivery Driver (Full Time)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Full Time Delivery Driver will be working Monday-Friday delivering Bissell Brothers’ beer all throughout the state of Maine. As a self-distributed brewery, this person understands they are a representative of the brand and in addition to executing the nuts and bolts of the role, this person will go the extra mile for accounts and problem solve in real time. This position requires the ability to routinely lift up to 160lbs, ability to spend long hours on the road, a flexible and agreeable approach, and a general enthusiasm for the brewing process and beer industry. This position reports directly to the Director of Wholesale, but also takes direction from the Fleet and Warehouse Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to honor Bissell Brothers Brewing values and work as a team player
- Delivery brewery products to customers including bars, restaurants, and retail locations following a set schedule
- Ensure all products are delivered in good condition
- Interpersonal communication skills are a must
- Proficiency in navigating throughout Maine preferred, while driving cargo vans and box trucks
- Most routes will be solo, so an autonomous work ethic and inherent trust is compulsory
- Must be confident lifting 60-160lbs
- Commercial driving history preferred
- Must be comfortable moving throughout active kitchen/bar spaces
- Other tasks as necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Current driver’s license required
- Must be able to pass Driver’s Record Check
- Ability to safely operate, maneuver, navigate, and drive a vehicle
- Maintain vehicles in good working condition
- Ability to listen and talk to others to convey information effectively
- Previous experience in distribution preferred
- General beer and brewery knowledge experience preferred
- Ability to be trained on Bissell Brothers Inventory
- Ability to carry on an existing interest in beer and core understanding of beer industry in Maine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask responsibilities routinely
- Must be of legal age to work with and serve alcohol
- Alcohol Responsibility; full understanding that they are a representative of not only BBB, but of the alcohol beverage industry and must honor the BBB responsible use policy
