Packaging Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
The Packaging Technician plays a role in ensuring our beers are packaged with the highest possible quality standards. The Packaging Technician will operate, maintain, and clean packaging equipment to meet daily packaging goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in the packaging process, ensuring that BB’s quality standards are met consistently.
• Safely operate and maintain forklift certification.
• Perform all steps of packaging process, ensuring that BB’s quality standards are met consistently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of packaging areas and equipment to comply with brewery and safety regulations.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
• Properly handle and store materials such as labels, packaging materials, and chemicals.
• Complete daily production logs and report any issues or variances to the Packaging Manager.
• Participate in inventory management, including counting and tracking packaging supplies.
• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
• Work as part of a team to meet production schedules and ensure timely product delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• High School Diploma or GED graduate required; some college preferred.
• Must be of legal age to work with and serve alcohol.
• Ability to carry on an existing interest in beer and core understanding of beer industry in Maine.
• Ability to honor Bissell Brothers Brewing Values and work as a team player.
• Ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts; including evenings and weekends.
