This entry to our You Earned It series is Unbridled Spirit: a Kentucky Common Ale. You Earned It is a program in which our team members take turns brewing a batch of beer on our pilot system. A portion of the sales from draft pours and cans sold are donated to a non-profit of their choice.

Our Draft Technician Nick Martel brewed Unbridled Spirit to benefit Cultivating Community: a non-profit that grows sustainable communities in Maine by expanding access to healthy, local food; empowering children, youth, and adults to play diverse roles in restoring the local, sustainable food systems; and modeling, teaching, and advocating for ecological food production.

We hope you enjoy Bissell Brothers’ first-ever stab at a Kentucky Common, a style we’ve described as a maltier cousin of cream ale. Our take is an easy drinking beer with a toasty, corn-like sweetness balanced by a subtle spice note from a light hopping with Sterling.
